Meet the Team

Tracey Scriven – Manager

(BA Early Years and Early Years Teacher Status)
Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCO

I have over thirty years experience in Child Care and have worked in a variety of child care settings. I have worked at Lytchett Matravers Pre-school since 2006 and during this time I have continued my professional development and achieved a BA in Early Years and Early Years Teacher Status (QTS equivalent). I feel passionately, that as adults, we need to ensure that we provide children with plenty of fun opportunities to play, explore and create, in order for them to develop a love for learning and inquiring minds. This is probably why my favourite days at Pre-school have been our Outside Woodland Learning sessions.

Emma Moors – Lead Educator and Curriculum Coordinator

(Level 4 Cert in Early Years Practice)

I have been working with children since 1999. I studied at Poole College to gain my NNEB Diploma in Child Care. I worked in a day nursery for 10 years, where I cared for babies up to the age of two and was able to progress to become manager and attend many courses to further my development. I started working at Pre-school in February 2009 as room leader. I studied with the Open University to achieve my level 4 Certificate in Early Years Practice.

Shelley Bevis – Outside Woodland Learning Coordinator/Leader

(BA Hons Early Years)

I have two children who both attended the pre-school and during that time I ran the Stay and Play sessions. I have been working in child care settings for  over 20 years and I have a degree in Early Years as well as being a qualified Forest School Leader. My previous roles have also included providing support for children with additional needs and I have completed Sign-a- long Training.

Liz Day – Admin Assistant

I am new to Lytchett Matravers Pre-School, September 2019. In  my previous roles, I have been a Childminder, a Teaching Assistant and an Administrator for Dorset Social Services.

Georgie Dominey

(QCF level 3 CCLD)

I started working for the After School Club in 2007 and in 2010, I started work in the Pre-school. I have completed first aid training, food hygiene and I have recently completed a level 3 certificate in Children and Young People’s Workforce. I love working here, it is a fantastic Pre-school with a great team who are all very supportive. I really enjoy watching how the children develop over their time here.

Jackie Battrick

I have two grown up children and have always lived in Lytchett Matravers. I have been working at Pre-school since 1994 and I am also the After-school club Leader.  I have a level 3 qualification in Child Care, Learning and Development and Play Work and I have undertaken many short courses over the years which have helped me further develop my understanding and skills in supporting children’s learning development and wellbeing. My particular interest is in developing the outdoor learning environment, which isn’t surprising as one of my hobbies is gardening, which I also like to do with the children!

Natalie Bugden

I am a mum of two and both of my children came to Lytchett Matravers Pre-school. I have worked in Child Care since 1998, working as a Nanny and in nurseries. I have an NVQ level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development and a City and Guilds in Child Care and Sociology.

Nicky Hayward

(QCF level 3 CCLD)

I am a mum of two children and worked as a dinner lady in the local Primary School before applying for a position at the Pre-school in 2010. I became really interested in child development and how best to support this, which motivated me to undertaking a Child Care qualification and I have now completed a level 3 Certificate in Children and Young People’s Work Force. I have also attended many short courses to help me to develop my skills and knowledge further, for example supporting children’s well-being and involvement, paediatric first aid and food hygiene training.

Teresa Thomas

I worked in a bakery for 13 years before leaving to start a family and I now have two children of my own. I decided to do some voluntary work in a Pre-school to enable me to do my NVQ level 2 in Child Care Learning and Development. I have now completed my NVQ level 3 in the same subject. I have been working at Lytchett Matravers Pre-school since 2007. I really enjoy my work here and have completed my first aid training along with other short courses in manual handling, positive behaviour management and working well with parents.

Sue Gray

(BA Hons Early Years)

I have been working in Lytchett Matravers Pre-school since April 2015. Before this I worked as a nanny for two families.
I completed my BTEC in Nursery Nursing in 1995 and then went on to gain an Early Childhood degree BA (Hons) in 1998. I am also a mum of two and have enjoyed working as a parent helper in the local primary school, listening to children read.
I really enjoy working with children, especially watching them grow in independence and seeing them develop.

Erin Hopper

I first worked at the pre-school as part of my work experience whilst at school. I enjoyed it so much that I decided this is what I wanted to do as a career. I enrolled at Poole College and started at the pre-school as an apprentice in 2017. I have now completed my level 2 qualification and have recently started my level 3. I love being outside with the children and helping to develop the outside area to enhance children’s learning opportunities.

Phoebe Chappell

I studied child development at school and knew that I wanted a job in early years when I left. I enrolled with Poole and Bournemouth College and started my apprenticeship with Pre-school in 2017. I completed my level 2 at the end of 2017 and am currently continuing my studies to gain my level 3 qualification. I have spent a lot of time working with the younger children at pre-school and love being able to help them make a smooth transition when they start pre-school.

Jody Pennington

Jody joined the pre-school in September as an apprentice. She is studying at Poole College for her level 2 in childcare.

Sue Hill

I have been the cleaner for  pre-school for a number of years and during that time I have stood in as cover for the early birds and after school sessions with the children. I love going to carboots and markets, to find unusual and interesting objects to bring back for the children to explore.
