Information for Parents

As parents are a child’s first educator,  we believe that it is important for us to form positive relationships with everyone who provides care for the children who attend Lytchett Matravers Pre-school in order for us best to meet the emotional and developmental needs of every child. In order to do this effectively we are committed to sharing information about how the setting is run, the kind of activities we plan for the children as well as how you get involved in the life and development of the Pre-school. Do you have special skills that you would be willing to share? From dress-making to IT, publishing to plumbing, your talents may be just what we need!

Whether you can spare a few minutes or several hours, we are always pleased to involve parents, grandparents and carers in our school life. From helping during cookery sessions to doing some gardening we value your input.

As a community based setting, we depend on the goodwill of parents and their involvement to make our school a happy and successful one. Please let us know if you are interested in helping during a session or lending a hand generally – speak to Tracey Scriven, Pre-school Manager or email us.

No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship

From biscuit decorating to balloon modelling, raffles to face painting, we do it all in the name of raising funds for Pre-school! If you would like to get involved, can spare a few hours and would like to meet a group of friendly parents, please contact us and we’ll let you know more about what we do and how you can help. We always welcome new faces and fresh ideas, so please join in.
